About chaning track of payment

Hello,

I would like to know, how do you track of all the payments you got from your website, e-bay-amazon or any auctions site for taxes.

Plus- all the other fees you paid for, like paypal or any payment systems?

Any help will be much appreciated.

Tom

Please rephrase your question.

Do you mean to ask how to deal with chained payments and parallel payments?

To file your business taxes for all the items that you selled on your website and auctions sites. How do you keep a record of the payment that you received from all your sales, included the fees that you paypal and shipping fees. So when its tax time, its easy to file your business tax.

Huh? You should get independent invoicing from your various vendors (shippiing, paypal, merchant account, etc.). They will all show your costs. cs-cart is a “sales platform” and will show you your revenue. It is not an accounting system.

If you're looking for P&L detail like shipping charges versus shipping cost, taxes on shipping, taxes on products, etc. then you should be using a separate order management system that can break things down in that manner and report against it in a variety of different ways. The data is all there. Unfortunately, there's no software to dig it out and generate any user-defined reports for display.

Generally reports are very resource intensive and utilize aspects of the database that are not generally indexed for later retrieval. A good reporting subsystem would generate the needed data at time it is created (like at order-create time) to capture details to be reported against. Storing information in the database in 'text' fields in a 'serialized' format is not very conducive to reporting.
