A simple tax problem, with a 10% tax

OK. I do not want to bother anyone with complex tax questions, so I’ll keep it simple.

Let’s say I need to have a 10% tax on all products. Products are added, the prices already include this 10% tax. I’ve read the instructions here: [url]CS-Cart Documentation — CS-Cart 4.16.x documentation and set up the 10% tax for ALL products.

Now, I have a $392.00 product, and the 10% tax is, of course, 39,2.

But CS-Cart calculates it at 35.64. How is that?

I just want it to be 10% of the price, which is 39,2.

Any ideas?

Thank you.

If you selected the “Price includes tax” option in your tax settings, it means that $392 in your example is the product price without tax plus tax.

Let’s say the product price without tax is X, then the tax is 0.1X (as it is 10% tax), so,

392 = X+ 0.1
X, then X= 392/1.1 = 356.36 and the tax will be 0.1*356.36 = 35.64.
