Sorry if I misled you. When I give any release date, it’s almost always an estimate, inferred from our current plans and how development is going on. Consider it insider information that I was allowed to share here.
Unfortunately, plans change, new features are scheduled for release, etc. That’s why my assessment may get inaccurate. I’ll try my best to be more precise in the future.
As for the current release plans:
We’ll first release CS-Cart 4.18.4. That way smaller improvements won’t get delayed by the need to finalize bigger ones. Late April / early May is my current guess for that version.
CS-Cart 4.19.1 will definitely come after 4.18.4, possibly even June. Once we finalize the biggest technical changes, we’ll make version 4.19.1 available for third-party developers (possibly even before 4.18.4). That way, developers can adapt their add-ons for 4.19.1 in advance.
Hi Ivan
Just as feedback. Maybe it makes sense to release new updates more often, even if they are smaller. The psychological effect is greater when you see the changelog and there is a reason to buy the update subscription.
Yes, I see your point. What you’ve described is one of the reasons why we’re going for 4.18.4 before 4.19.1. We just need to finalize the smaller features needed for the release.
The theme is good, but we need cold hard features that enable the admin and vendor to sell and convert more, scale more, market more, upsell more, understand accounting and analytics more. You need to build a solid foundation before focusing on secondary nice-to-have features such as dark mode (I don’t think anyone cares that much.)
They should be baked into CS-Cart instead of using add-ons.
As a lot of users here have stated, CS-Cart has stagnated and been left behind in terms of features. Also the default CS-Cart RN app has been completely neglected. No one goes to websites anymore to shop online. We need proper seamless integration between the website and app and a decent, smooth, functional app.
Study other e-com marketplaces please and give customers a serious reason to pay for the license renewal fee every year.
The funny thing is, despite Cs-cart’s stagnation and shortcomings, there really is no multivendor software better than Cs-cart out there. I think Cs-cart knows this, hence why they are quietly shifting to a new Cs-cart built on modern tech stack using the same playbook.
My guess is this is why Cs-cart prices keep going up despite not offering anything new. The money is to fund a new project, not to make Cs-cart significantly good.
Basically time is most valuable resource we got. Our time and other resources basically were used to fund searchanise (others too) that currently has minimum to do with the improvement or development of cs-cart…
Its not a donation, I pay subscription only because I have hopes product will improve and will stay ahead of the market trends out of the box.
As far as I understand new product cs-cart is currently working will have little to do with cs-cart I know from 1x. Possibly beyond my tech skills.
