4.10 Checkout - Addresses

So, converted to the new checkout which I like in concept but....

1. There is no second address box for Apartments, Suites, etc nor do I see a way to add one via the blocks in the Checkout Layout section.

2. There is no Shipping address but the city/state/country above and no way I see to add address fields. Many times a customer will have a different billing and shipping address.

3. No way for a customer to specify if the billing and shipping addresses are the same or different.

What am I missing? I looked over the docs and searched here but nothing...see attached.

I see where the customer, if they have an account, can go to their Profile details and add these but there should be an option from the checkout screen...this will confuse customers and kill sales.

In the Phone box in the profile it's forcing a country code +. or a 1. which many may not know or care about.

I got the second address field added that and that tells me... by using a completely different address.. .that this is for shipping.

You guys made an unnecessary mess out of this.

everyone talking thats since released v4.10

follow main topic :

https://forum.cs-cart.com/topic/55193-meet-cs-cart-multi-vendor-4101-with-new-checkout-and-product-variations/

Also.. by reading the docs: https://docs.cs-cart.com/4.10.x/user_guide/settings/checkout.html

There is no:

Profile address section order—choose which customer address should go first on the checkout page: billing address or shipping address.

Configure “Sign in” step—choose whether to display the Returning customer or New customer section first.

Ask customers to agree with terms & conditions during checkout—if you enable this setting, customers will have to accept the terms and conditions of your store at checkout.

in the settings in admin.

Thanks.. I compiled all of this over there but this is a damn mess... I couldn't even get the new checkout turned off after reading the docs and disabling the blocks in checkout... just rolled back to 4.9.3 as the new checkout is a no go.

Ilya Makarov (@imac) keeps track of the main topic, so I think it's best if I let him continue the discussion there. That's why I'll only comment the docs here, and whatever information they currently lack.

1. Some settings of the old checkout were not applicable to the new checkout, so they were moved to the Step-by-Step Checkout add-on in 4.10.1.

2. The requirement for country code can be disabled in 4.10.2 in the Supported phone numbers setting at the end of the Settings > Appearance section.

3. New checkout relies on separate blocks for customization. So, instead of configuring the presence or order of checkout parts in the settings, this can now be done on the Checkout tab in Design > Layouts. For example, that's where you add/hide/move around the requirement to accept terms and conditions.

4. We haven't updated some articles for 4.10.x yet, but it is on my to-do list. In the meantime, the blog article about the new checkout should cover the basics pretty well.

I'll go through your previous comments in this topic to make sure that the docs address at least some of the questions brought up so far.

Hi, recently have bought the 'One step checkout 1.4 by cscartrocks.com' must say it worked just fine.

  • Now after last update it does not work anymore: if I choose credit card or PayPal the result is a 403. I can't figure out why. Anyone? If I can solve that I will just continue with this add on, instead of using the CS cart one page check out.

  • What I like about this add on is the below check box. This option is no longer available in the new one page check out by CS Cart, or is it somewhere hidden?

now I am using CS Cart one page check out.

  • If I click City below pop up shows up, where do I switch it off?

  • It says Deliver to. I can change the text, but I am not allowed to leave it blank, why is it obligatory to put text if I don't want to.

  • in the below check out layout there is the box Main Content, hoped to find the invoicing address but if I switch it one it just duplicates everything, and I am not able to modify anything in that block
