301 Redirect control in Admin Panel

I am hoping there is an Addon for this issue, or an area in the Admin panel that I have not yet found.

I am looking to easily access all 301 redirects from my site - and be able to easily manage them and add to them from the Admin panel. I am using CS-Cart V 3.

Is there an addon for this - or an area already built into the Admin panel to easily control 301 redirects, with a log of 301s that already exist?

Thank you for your help -

I dont think it is. If you are using cPanel, you could do it there. This page helped me out a lot:

Just use it and paste the final code into your .htaccess-file.

Thank you for this. I did have a question about what you have been doing RE …?dispatch URLs in CS-Cart - I saw you mention this on another thread. Have you been controlling all of these re-directs yourself? I see CS-Cart uses 302 redirects for this. Any hints on making sure pages are best represented in search?

Thanks again.

302s are mostly for cleaning up ugly URLs. Do you use the SEO-Addon that comes with the cart? This addon will do that job for you. Use 301s if you are migrating from another cart that already have SEO-juice in Google.

I only had around 200 products, so i did it the hard way, and did manually 301 redirects for all the pages that was listed on Google. You could check this by typing: site:yoursite.com in Google, or try to export the URLs to a CVS or excel-file from the cart you are using today. Then use the website i linked to in the above post.

If you are moving from another cart, you could also consider using this site: http://www.shopping-cart-migration.com - they do a very good job, but you still most likely have to do the boring job with the 301s.
