#321469 Customers Cannot Checkout!

Hello,

After having upgraded to the latest 4.10.4.SP1 and all the products and variations updated I was happy to see everything working... for a couple of days.
 

Last Thursday customers reported the inability to checked out. Ran test, confirmed the impossibility. Even though ALL products had been updated to the new variations system, upon opening the admin part I noticed the msg: "WarningYour store still has old product variations. They currently appear as separate products, without the ability to switch between them. To make them work as before the upgrade, convert old variations to new variations. It's easy and automatic." I found it strange.

 

I opened a ticket in CSC Help Desk. Was asked for FTP credentials along with CPanel access yesterday morning, and then white listing of their IP on the servers... since then nothing.

NO answer to any reply, no answer to any new tickets, no answer on the phone. My site has been down for over 4 (FOUR) Days and CSC is MUTE!!!

 

Trying to upgrade to 4.10.4.SP2... did not work... store is closed but procedure is stuck at "Compressing Backup File".

 

Anyone with similar problem??

You expect to have a spare tire whether you do a road trip... or simply goes to the supermarket. I doubt that you, or anyone else for that matter, check he/she has a spare tire before starting their engine!

 

They did maintain during my 15 years with this company a daily backup, which by the way, is mentioned, as included, in every plan of any other company I have been reviewing since. It's only recently they chose to remove it and have it added as a paid option. Meaning removing my spare tire without my knowledge.

 

And talking about plan I would challenge you to find a plan... any plan with pricing posted on their website. (https://totalserversolutions.com). This company sucks. EWD Hosting was an excellent company that got swallowed by this not-to-be-trusted company.

Hello,

Stay away from TotalServer Solutions.

I have been a customer of theirs since 2004 -- yes that's 15 years!

Before being TotalServer Solutions it was EWD Hosting and maybe 6 or 7 years they merge.

I had been hosting my X-Cart site and for the last two years my CS-Cart.

Had a problem yesterday (customer could no longer checkout). After 5 hours of back and forth I asked them to restore from the last backup... only to be told I don't have backup services!!!

 

What??? It's like discovering after a flat tire that you don't have a spare because during the last oil change they removed your spare tire since you did not sign for spare tire service!!

 

So stay away from these clowns and totally unethical people. As a matter of fact there are so Not-To-Be-Trusted that no prices for services or hosting plans are to be found on their website!

I have it somewhat working... You need to have the "Free Shipping" in "Shipping Properties" tab for the product(s) you want to ship for free checked:
 

General

Weight (lbs) :
 

Free shipping : X

 

And under the "Shipping Methods" tab:
 

Enable defaults shipping methods: X
 

But even though I have setup a "Free Shipping" method in "Shipping Methods" with a Cost Dependencies of "More than $59.00" I have the Free Shipping option showing up even if Cart contains less than $59.00 of products.

 

You need to have a "Rate Value" of say $15.00 for Product Cost > 0 and then a "Rate Value" of $0.00 for Product Cost > $59.00 to have it... somewhat working... since then it shows a "Free Shipping" in Cart of $15.00 !! Does not make much sense.

 

The Free Shipping method in CS-Cart does not seem to be working as described in the documentation.

This is what I have already done.

 

The checkout offers Free Shipping for the whole basket even if ONLY one Free Product (say for $9.00) is added to a basket containing "Non-Free Shipping" products. The requirement is for Orders totaling $59.00 or more of "Free Shipping" products.

 

I want the checkout to offer "Free Shipping" ONLY if ALL products in the basket qualify for it. If the basket contains one or more "Non-Free Shipping" products the "Free Shipping" products will not be used for Shipping Computation, using the "Use for free shipping :" option in the Free Shipping method.

Hello,

I have setup a number of products to ship free. I have created a "Free Shipping" method when cart totals $59.00 or more.

 

Problem is when having a "Ship Free" product of say $19.00 and then adding a "Non-free Shipping" product of $45.00 the cart still shows a Free Shipping method available. So basically having just one "Free  Shipping" product in your basket qualifies the whole basket to ship for free.

 

How to restrict this "Free shipping" method when ONLY ALL products in basket are set as "Free Shipping"?

Different profiles is not really what is needed but just different shipping addresses. CSC created  when they indicated you can have a profile for home and one for business, is two different profiles under the same email address... which is in my humble opinion very rare if not non-existent. You don't want your boss to be able to review under your professional email address what you are buying for yourself and you don't want mixing up your personal email address with business related matters... well some people do ;)

 

I reviewed again and from a customer point of view and the actual setup is really not clear and easily understandable. I would really like to see as suggested by imago a section for different shipping addresses with aliases. That seems to be an easier to understand interface for customers.

 

Just my two cents.

Ok. After a thorough review I must admit I was wrong and OrangeGirl and eComLabs were both right. You can indeed create different shipping addresses. The current setup is not entirely clear and will not be to my customers. What is needed I believed is a clearer and better interface for customers.

Hi OrangeGirl,

 

What CSC achieves is to save ONLY one shipping address at a time, if you change the shipping address for a second shipping address the first shipping address is lost, since it has been replaced by the second one you just entered.

I think Imago got it right, all Shipping addresses entered should be saved in a separate section with a list available at checkout time showing aliases and a check box next to each above or next to the "Ship To" section allowing customers to ship to an already existing shipping address or add a new one.

This is what I had been using but got frustrated since on the customer side you can only enter a different shipping address for immediate shipping but cannot save it for later use, forcing customer to re-enter it next time around. There is a lot of reasons, after having used XCart for 14 years, for me to switch to CSC... but somehow CSC fails me on this. I am also surprised to see that after reviewing carefully all the add-ons around no one thought about this one.

Hi,

 

I'm trying to find if there is an add-on or a method to add a list of "guests" or "friends" that a customer may add to his profile.

Customer wants to send a gift to a friend, or a family member, they will keep the same billing address for their CC purchase but will send said purchase to a friend as a gift. At X-Mas time we have currently customers sending to family and friends numerous gifts so the list should not be limited to a numbers of added deliveries addresses. It's a feature under X-Cart but I don't seem to have seen it in CSC.

 

Any idea?

I had found a list of layouts in the db. But I thought there had to be more than than.
What is interesting is the fact that only 10 fields define an entry for a layout with no data as far as I can see defining grids and blocks size and positions. Where is that data stored?

Messages (errors, success, etc...) are currently displayed under the upper menu bar which happens to be fixed when scrolling down the page. The problem is that the msg being displayed is currently partly hidden (you cannot read its entirety) and worse the X for closing it is totally hidden and as such blocking any further attempt to get rid of it.

Has someone an idea on how to reposition the message window in the center of the screen where it can be seen, read, and eventually closed?

When setting a payment method by CC the only available option for Authorize.net is AuthorizeNet.Aim. Using this setup let your customers enter their CC information on YOUR server... and will need to add numerous security options to get this going.

 

I am currently using AuthorizeNet.Sim on our X-Cart cart and this redirects the customer to the Authorize.Net site which keeps all the CC information from customer... this way you can sleep at night without worrying about CC thefts info from your site.

 

How can we get the correct API for Authorize.Net with the SIM option and not the available AIM?
