#68055 thunbnail image

Posted by gabrieluk on 25 January 2010 - 01:18 AM in General Questions

hi there,
i'm a bit confused.....there's 3 pictures about a product:
the very small one, that you find first. After clicking in the product, you have a second picture a little bigger inside the product description itself. And then, you have the third one, that you have when you "click to enlarge".
Wich one is considered the thunbnail the first or second? Also i don't know if the detailed image is the second or the third image?

Posted by gabrieluk on 25 November 2009 - 02:33 PM in General Questions

This is really strange.....I attached a copy of the error i get on screen. And i notice that this error ocurrs only when i open site in the Public Library nearby my house.I don't know why this can happen because is a CSS error and the only difference between connecting at my home and in the Public Library ,is that the connection from the library uses a manual proxy server to connect...what a CSS ERROR HAS TO DO WITH PROXY SERVER?Mistery....

Hi Gabriel

I don't think there are any. I don't use Reward Points mod [uninstalled already] and if you applied whatever is in Customer area you should be safe.

Regarding htaccess, there's a long thread about how to use it. No perfect solution is available, that would work for all of us.

Also, use SSL for admin access and rename it.
http://forum.cs-cart...ead.php?t=12628

If you have a static IP at home, limit other IPs from being able to access your admin panel.

Remove skins you don't use, don't install other php scripts in CS directory, set correct permissions on folders [avoid 777!]

There's a script, which will monitor certain CS folders for changes and if something unusual happens, it will send you an email. I cannot find it now, but look for it on hotscripts.com /PHP

Hope, this helps. Good luck.

Posted by gabrieluk on 24 March 2010 - 02:02 PM in SEO

hi,i would like to know how to edit the breadcrumbs from the global navigation. It seems, for me,in a seo point of view that those links, such as affiliate program and promotions are not really usefull,i would rather put in the breadcrums, categories of the shop. And i also would like to transfer those links to affiliate program and promotions,to a side box to be set to show only in the homepage.

#65061 S.e.o/S.e.f/ And long tail keywords(phrases)

Posted by gabrieluk on 23 December 2009 - 03:27 PM in SEO

hi Roban,
thanks for the tips.I have a little plan in my mind,so i will tell you briefly, and let's see what you think about it.
the site i want to optimize is composed of 19 categories, wich contains multiple products.I've been in other forums, especific for seo,and they told me that it's really hard to optimize a site that is composed of many different products. So my idea is to develop the site optimization based in only 5 categories.
the idea for on page optimization:

1.study this 5 products keywords, looking for long tail keywords.eg "buy the best red widgets uk","cheap blue widget uk","purchase yellow widget london".

2.optimize home page for this 5 products with few phrases

3.insert this phrases in the title tag of the respective products and categories

4.insert those phrases in the meta description and inside product page description

about internal link biulding

5.create anchor text with this keyword phrases, and insert in the product descriptions of ALL the other products that are NOT INCLUDED in the optimization

what you think?

#65049 S.e.o/S.e.f/ And long tail keywords(phrases)

Posted by gabrieluk on 23 December 2009 - 12:29 PM in SEO

Hi,
I'm optimizing a cs cart store for the search engines.I've been reading the forums of Cs community and i found that the main issue is SEF.Everyone talks about SEF as it was SEO.Look,i'm not the s.e.o guru, but with my studies in the topic, what i found,is that the most important for s.e.o is to find right long tail keywords(phrases) and internal and external link building.
So i would like to have some advice regarding this side of s.e.o,not including s.e.f ,that best suits CS cart.

#73961 flash banner and cs cart

Posted by gabrieluk on 10 March 2010 - 09:45 PM in General Questions

thanks. So i think it might be a connection problem,as i'm using ff and ie as well.I'm using this dongle with brodband pay as you go connection...you think that might be problem?

#74055 flash banner and cs cart

Posted by gabrieluk on 11 March 2010 - 03:30 PM in General Questions

It might be the download speed...

but i tough once a flash movie is downloaded,it runs by it's own speed.I think this problem is related to the computers hardware performance.I notice this because the computer i was using before was a NETBOOK.Now using a normal laptop, the glitches have almost dissapeared!
