20 March 2018 - 04:59 PM

When a customer logs in, and chooses to view "my orders" he is prestented witht he full list of order statuses.

Is it difficult to completely hide this list form the customer, I dont see the need for it, and we have some statuses that we dont want them to see

Sagepay Tls 1.2 Update Uk

29 January 2018 - 11:47 AM

Had an email from Sagepay this morning stating all servers must be able to use TLS 1.2 from March 2018.

Just thought Id post here in case anyone who uses Sagepay in UK has missed it.

Notification - TLS 1.2 Security update
Sage Pay are committed to ensuring the highest levels of security across all our systems. With this in mind, we’re upgrading the protocols that are used to secure all external connections to our systems to the latest and safest. We contacted you in November to let you know of these imminent changes to the protocols. The updates to our Test Server connections were completed in January as planned.
This is not an action Sage Pay is taking alone, all websites that send or process credit card data will be making this change to protocol Transport Layer Security 1.2 (TLS 1.2). This will become mandatory for communication with Sage Pay.
The next steps are to make the same changes to our Live Server in March 2018. Please see below for a reminder of the key information about the action you need to take to prevent disruption to your payment processing and the important dates.
What is TLS?
When your server connects to a Sage Pay server to process a transaction, Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol encrypts the communications to keep them safe from malicious activity.
You or your developer can find out which TLS protocol your website uses by
entering your domain on a website like www.ssllabs.com

Am I impacted?
If you use “Sage Pay Server” or “Sage Pay Direct” Integration to process ecommerce payments you will need to ensure your systems use TLS 1.2 before the deadline dates below.
When your server connects to a Sage Pay server to process a transaction, Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol encrypts the communications to keep them safe from malicious activity.
When will the changes happen?
To avoid any disruption to Live Payments, your systems will need to be ready for this change by 31st March 2018.
Why are you making these changes?
The PCI Security Council sets the rules on which technologies are acceptable for use in sending cardholder data. They have identified TLS 1.0 or 1.1 as no longer acceptable.
We understand that technical information of this nature can seem daunting, please pass the information above to your development team, web hosting provider or e-commerce software provider if you are unsure.

Extra Store

22 November 2017 - 09:00 PM

This is something Im unsure if Im doing it the best way.

At the moment we have various schools that we supply with uniforms, and the school wants the parents to come to our website and order items themselves and pay via card, and then come collect from our store.

At the moment we do it like this

We set a category up with all the products for the school, only about 10 products, mystore .com/ schoolname (we then disallow google this in robots.txt.) and brand that category with the school logo and info and products etc.

the problem is these products are duplicated from the main categorys and are also at a good discounted rate for the school, but are still open to everyone who stumbles on them really, as they are not applied to user groups as this requires each parent who buys for the children to log in and be "activated" to that usergroup so it can be virtually impossible to do that for every parent.

I knwo how to set up categories and products for usergroups as we do that for other companies where there is only 1 or 2 "buyers" so usergroups work fine for them.

Do I create another store,? to avoid these "discounted" products being seen by "joe public" I have ultimate licence, if so do i need a new web address just for the school etc.

Is it worth creating another store for only 10 products, payment methods/shipping etc.

Can one be created where it is a generic log in to view, so that the teacher can give all the parents the same log in, then they can pay using there own cc details etc.???

Slightly confused as to what is best

Drop Tables Before Copying

19 November 2017 - 11:53 AM

When copying live database to dev database do you always have to "drop" the tables first, seems the only way I can do it.

Is it not possible to just overwrite with new one?
