#269296 Introducing Cs-Cart & Multi-Vendor 4.4.3 With Google Recaptcha

Posted by Triplets on 26 January 2017 - 12:43 PM

In their blog it states:

The add-on is installed and activated during the upgrade, but the old CAPTCHA will still be used until you configure the new add-on. We recommend switching to Google reCAPTCHA as soon as possible.

Switch to Google reCAPTCHA:

1. Go to Add-ons → Manage add-ons.
2. Find and click Google reCAPTCHA in the list of add-ons.
3. A pop-up window will open. Enter Site key and Secret token, then save your changes. The instructions on how to get the key and token are available here.

#264768 Simtech Vs Cs-Cart?

Posted by Triplets on 23 November 2016 - 02:30 PM

Thank you for the clarification. I do hope some of these nice addons and added functionality find their way into the default cs-cart.

It does seem to me, the new Simtech Dev is creating new e-commerce functionality that is better than the new features being built into cs-cart releases. I would hope the core developers take some lessons on what new functionality people want in cs-cart by how popular some of these new addons are, and eventually incorporate them into the baseline.

#248322 Why Is Product Image Quality So Bad?

Posted by Triplets on 17 April 2016 - 02:35 PM

I think it is a bug. We also noticed a sharp decline in our image quality when we went from version 3 to 4. I posted about it a few months ago and never got it resolved.

#242930 Return Url After Login

Posted by Triplets on 13 February 2016 - 09:15 PM

Thanks,

I found this in the bug tracker,

http://forum.cs-cart...3385#entry23385

We are on 4.3.4, it looks like it was fixed in 4.3.5

Since we have made significant changes to our 4.3.4 architecture, we can not upgrade, but I have made the appropriate changes to correct the bug.

Hopefully this fixes Fedor's problem also.

#242349 How To Add Custom Css With My Changes Addon

Posted by Triplets on 07 February 2016 - 09:08 PM

Your in the wrong directory. Use

design\themes\responsive

The themes_repository directory is not the Live template directory. It contains the not uses templates.

Change the word responsive above to your 'template' name if not using the responisve theme.

#242336 Php 7 Set For Release In November. Will Cs-Cart Support It?

Posted by Triplets on 07 February 2016 - 04:38 PM

I am not sure the rush to implement PHP7 in 4.x.  Most hosting companies are not going to jump on the PHP7 bandwagon. I would say your host won't add PHP 7 to their servers for 6 months to a year after it is released. By then we should be on Cscart 5.

#235430 Feedback Wanted From Cs-Cart Theme Developers

Posted by Triplets on 22 November 2015 - 09:27 PM

Yes, definitely more icon fonts built-in as a select-able library.

I also hate that cs-cart has hard-coded the smarty truncate command into the templates. It needs to be pulled out into a config setting. On every cs-cart site I have done I have had to modify the template to allow a longer product name. Let the store owner choose the length of the product names NOT cs-cart.

And I hate that I have to modify the product template to move items around. Some clients want the description at top, some at bottom, some don't want sku, etc. All the product items should be easily relocatable without having to modify a template! All product items should be controllable (on or off) without having to modify a template!

#228954 How To Limited The Product Name To 80 Characters Maximum?

Posted by Triplets on 05 September 2015 - 11:34 AM

You can always truncate it from the customers view.

#225615 1-Year Licenses Discontinued

Posted by Triplets on 04 August 2015 - 06:10 PM

It might be lost in translation from Russian to English, but whomever named it a Lifetime License should be fired. :)

A U.S. company would never get away calling this a lifetime license if upgrades are not included.

#224916 Where Did The Database 'maintenance' Tab Go In 4.3.1 ?

Go to cs cart knowledge base and search for optimize database. The knowledge base is always a good place to start.

#211686 What To Expect From A New Site?

Posted by Triplets on 16 April 2015 - 10:43 AM

Thanks for the unnecessary slam. I think you misinterpreted my post. I was giving you excellent SEO advise. I was suggesting finding a niche market and focusing on those key words first. As a new site you are never going to compete with your competition on the big key words in your category (stationary, birthday cards, wedding cards, etc). These are tough key words even for a seasoned store. Focus on the keywords your competition does not do well on, build up a customer base and slowly work in the big competitive key words. New online stores seem to make the common mistake of blaming the software and web site, and not looking at their business model first. The same philosophy works for new online stores as in new brick and mortar stores, if your products are needed and the market is not saturated you will do well; and of course product price is key.

You can use this tool to count your key word density http://tools.seobook...eyword-density/

This tool to find broken links http://brokenlinkcheck.com

This tool to check for backlinks https://ahrefs.com/

and this tool gives general SEO overview http://www.feedthebot.com/tools/

If you haven't done so, create a Google sitemap using cscart's built in sitemap generator and submit it to Google.

I hope this helps and I wish you well.

P.S. The reason I responded to the initial post was I have some special insight into your category. My wife has had an online store in the stationary and card business for 10 years now. We struggled against the big guys in this category until I took my own advise and started to focus on unique 3 and 4 word word phrases. Best advise I can give is ask your friends if they were to search for a wedding invitation online, what phrase would they type into a search engine. Hopefully you will learn some unique phrases you can focus on.

#211623 What To Expect From A New Site?

Posted by Triplets on 16 April 2015 - 01:19 AM

Very nice site, but unfortunately you chose to have an e-commerce site in an already very competitive category. There are thousands of sites just like yours selling the same products. I recommend finding a niche market first and slowly work your way into the full stationary and card business. If not, I think you will be swallowed up by your competition that has a huge head-start on you.

Maybe you can use Google's Adwords to pay for some visitors, or push the social media angle, but both of these are well known techniques your competition is already doing.

I wish you well
