A Much Needed Tweak For Product Variations!

Those who have checked out Product Variations know that this is huge improvement over the way CS cart used to handle things, but there's one tweak it still needs.

When the product is viewed in the category grid, it's the first option's image that gets displayed. This is fine when "size" is the only variant (and all the images are the same anyway), but "color" is another matter. Customers will not realize that other colors are available, if they are just looking at the category page.

The fix is obvious. There is already a place to add an image to the "parent product" (which CS Cart currently ignores). This is the image that should appear on the category page.

This way, store owners can develop their own special image (i.e. an image that shows several colors of the product, or an image with the text "other colors available"), to get the idea across that there are several color options available.

How bout some "up votes" so we can get this done!

Would definitely be useful, But could you not work around this by making your first option use the image you are talking about,?

No, because then the first option (for example, a blue bag) would show all options (a bag in all colours).

Ok, I would just be inclined if selling something in multi colors to do a layered image, like the attached, If you made this your first option image with that options image as top layer, You could do the same for subsequent option moving that color to the top layer.

You are correct in the feature being needed but for now this might work for you. Of course if you have more than 10 ish colors then this might not be practical.
