Add-Ons By Simtech Development: Mailchimp Advanced

Dear Friends,

We have developed the MailChimp Advanced add-on that connects your site with your MailChimp account and allows you to create thematic mailing lists and segment your audience for targeted and effective messages.

The process is the following:

— Create the necessary mailing lists in your MailChimp account.

— Create mailing lists with the MailChimp Advanced add-on in your store (each list is synchronized with the MailChimp list).

— Adjust attractive sign-up forms on your site.

— Use the MailChimp service to contact a certain mailing group with a targeted offer or customers with common interests and share information among them.

For example, you have a list of customers subscribed on the X-Box One category page. When a new game for this console comes out, you will be able to notify only the interested customers about it.

Key features

— Unlimited number of mailing lists

— Fast connection with your MailChimp account

— Eye-catching and user-friendly sign-up forms and pop-ups

— Blocks with the sign-up forms at any page of your store

— Sign-up forms customized to your liking

— Sign-up forms at registration and checkout

— Mobile optimized pop-ups

— Ability to show pop-up forms once per session

It should not sync per list, but per segment and 1 list. Otherwise you get double contacts in Mailchimp.

Creating multiple mailing lists is the default functionality of Mailchimp. But you can use only one list if you like. You will be able to segment it later in your MailChimp account.

Hmm, but wouldn't it be better to always have 1 list and then use the add-on to put customers in certain segments? Otherwise if you have a big list and some customers are listed 3 or 4 times (in each list) Mailchimp will be become very costly.

I think this is not a big problem. You can combine your lists in Mailchimp account, so they will be without duplication. The point to use separate lists is that you need to send different information to different groups of people. But we will add segmentation in future versions of the add-on.

We are also planning to add eCommerce integration.

But if you combine list, the segmentation is gone, which is the entire purpost of the add-on.

It should work like this:

Store X syncs with List X

List X consists of groups. A group is a category within a list so you can categorize by peoples interests.

Then you can segment by these groups, and send targeted mails per interest, previous purchase, etc.

Here it is explained well: http://www.earlybirdstrategy.com/mailchimp-groups-vs-segments/

Yes, but the first step is to create lists. Without lists you can not create segments and groups. The lists are really needed, for example, the list for your buyers, the list for your blog and so on. Also if someone has several storefronts he/she needs to create a list for every storefront. So our first add-on version allows to create multiple lists, then we will extend the add-on functionality.

Hello!

Now the user's reward points can be passed to your MailChimp account. So you can include this information to the e-mail to remind customers about their points.

Great news :)

Hello!

Now you can export the abandoned carts either manually and by cron. So you can constantly update your mailing list with the users having abandoned cart in your store.

Hello!

Another cool new feature is the ability to synchronize your user groups with your Mailchimp lists.

Hello!

New settings for the sign-up form in a pop-up window are added:

- Show in x seconds — you can set the delay in seconds when the pop-up will be shown.

- Hide in x% of page scrolling — the pop-up will be hidden after the user scrolls to a certain percentage of a page.

- Show once within time period (days) — the pop-up will be shown once per specified number of days.

Hi! Will this add-on be changed so that it is compliant with GDPR? Thanks!

Hello!

Yes, of course, we will adapt the add-on to GDPR.

Hello!

MailChimp Advanced add-on is GDPR-compliant. With our GDPR Compliance (EU) add-on, you can anonymize customer personal data and such users will be deleted from the mailing list. The checkboxes have also been added to the places where personal data is collected (such as checkout, registration, and newsletter subscription forms).

Hello!

Hi, I have a quick question about this add-on:

Concerning subscribing during checkout - what happens if a repeat customer who is already subscribed to the newsletter, leaves the checkmark unchecked? Will they become unsubscribed?

I think maybe it would make sense for the add-on to check if a customer is already on the list and if so, not show the info at all in order to not confuse people. What do you think?

Hello!

No, customer should not be unsubscribed in this case.

Do you want to hide the subscription link for subscribed customers? And what about unsubscribe function? Do you want your customers to be able to unsubscribe?

First point, ok good. That does make point 2 less needed, but I guess it wouldn't be a bad idea to hide the checkbox for already registered customers.

Thank you for the tip.
