I got an report on my website and I was told that I have hundreds of pages that are not W3C valid. I haven't done major edits on my store aside from using a custom template. Is there a common reason why my entire site is not w3c valid?
Also I was told that 'Too many of your images have missing or empty ALT attributes/descriptions'. How do I start to fix this issue?
I was also told that "your store homepage has 292 hyperlinks inside the HTML code that is visible to search engines, you should have 40-80 links per page". I have no idea what I have so many hyperlinks and have never added any on my own. Could this be coming from my custom template? I've really no idea where to start with fixing all of this so any help would be appreciated

You can have a lot of blocks, menu items, products on your homepage. Check if you need them all.

Actually it is hard to make modern website valid on 100%. For example, the following websites are also not valid
(W3C) allows internet users to check HTML and XHTML documents for well-formatted markup. Markup validation is an important step towards ensuring the technical quality of web pages.
