I am a CSC newbie, been playing around with the software for a while. Very inmpressed.

I have a client who wants to have a home page like the following: http://www.thefoundary.com/

Is this possible to have jsut a custom front home page like the site above with just the login / singup
box? A background image etc.

Yes, it possible
Remove all blocks from your homepage and add login/signup block to your home page
change your BG with an image ...
