Theres a new policy where whiners and complainers like vidan have to pay for an upgrade, ok joking aside, if you want the horse to get you were your going then don't kick it. The Quote / Invoicing Addon is fixed, it will be up next week for download. The Helpdesk has been upgraded to 2.1.3 and we are investigating bug reports, we are adding a few basic functionality to the Helpdesk - Sno

its been 2 weeks since his post. and no release no info regarding update.

----- same addon this was from 20th january 2011-

This is currently being added along with a few minor bug fixes, the addon will also be updated to CS-Cart v2.1.3, the updated version (v1.5) is expected to be released the first week in February.

It's a little late to request new features but we'll have it added, if you would like this feature now you can send us a donation    so we can pay the development team to add it in now, let me know, Thanks - Sno

yet ask another donation LOL (no hard feeling sno)
its been 3 weeks since first week of february, and still no updates.
i believe update will be post after my post (this post) and AGAIN another promise (i hope im wrong)

and for the love of God you will see the exact kind of post just like mine here by other vidan.

Realistically, I think he is most likely just a bit overwhelmed at this time & is having to juggle the release dates abit, don't worry so much, although I am sure you guys are anxious to get a hold of these mods, he has always managed to come through. ;)

my dear Struck.
i believe his overwhelmed not only this time. but everytime.

Quote

in the end he has always managed to come through.

true. but many people trust him the way he made promise, and as result of trust he said this:

Quote

When you create great addons like we do it takes time and schedules are always pushed back, it's the nature of developing addons, if people don't want to wait then let me know so I can give a refund, Thanks - Sno

so for the great addons that snorocket have, it takes time, and schedules will always pushed back, and its nature we must understand it.

now i understand it.

i wonder if another developer like ez-ms, alt-team, sitemasterly, codingmaster share the same way of business deadline promise like snorocket did?

Well, I can only assure you of this, most are quite careful about giving very specific release dates, simply because it is very difficult for them to determine how much time will be involved from start to completion, and in the end the most important thing of all is that it functions as it was supposed to.

Although I am not a programmer/developer, I have worked with enough of them over the years to have a good understanding of what to expect.

Is your biggest concern in hitting a specific release date to the day, or is your biggest concern that it works without issue, regardless of your response, I already know the answer simply because I am a "Guru" blessed with intuition! :p

if you are talking about work without issue, then it must be not snorocket addons.
because from my problem "the quote addon invoice" its not working as planned.
and no bugfix until now, yet he promise to release it, first week of february.
and its an addon from last year, LAST YEAR baby.

i guess i can understand if the bug is hard to fix or its hard to achieve stable status, but reach him (snorocket) is really hard.
email him, or even using ticket in his website, getting reply like a week, and the reply will be (1). getting the bug fix soon (2). next week (3). we are waiting for cs-cart release the new version to get the mod update in new version (4). another next week (5). wait for another donation to fix

its better if he update the status of the addon in twitter or in cs-cart forum / everywhere in his website, but none of them was there.
We buy an addon from snorocket its like 1 time direct selling, no more updates. no support.
update will be provide if we complain in HERE. that is my experienced.

i hope that invoicing addon is getting fix.
and it will be the time i seal my mouth.

Why don't develop one addon at the time? focus all the programming talent available in just one addon, and when is complete and solid, move to the next.

One way Sno can avoid a lot of this stuff is to just add 2 weeks to any delivery date he is planning.

Basically, if the developers are planning on being done in two weeks, tell everyone here on the forum that it will be a month.

Then, if the addon is released in 3 weeks, it would be over by a week, but all of us here on the forum would think Sno is a bad ass and got it done sooner than he thought.

We do this type of stuff all the time for customers at my "normal" job. It ends up making us looking really awesome and the people are always that much happier with us.

Anyways, just my 2 cents.

Well, the bad news is he is well beyond the 2 weeks at this point. I'm sure he'll pull through. He has pulled through for me on issues like the help desk that he resolved issues for. I do feel that he may over commit sometimes and at that point people end up angry. I think he may have too many irons in the fire...but who doesn't!

I'm going to be honest with you guys, if your going to continue whining and complaining like a bunch of little giddy schoolgirls then we're going to stop making addons, that simple, keep it up, and we'll put an end to it for good. We dumped $800+ into an addon so you could have it for $40 and all you can do is whine and complain about when your going to get it, how about never because that's the way it heading. It's our addon, we paid for it, no one else, we're only being generous in offering it to others at an unbelievable discount, we don't have to do this and if you want us to stop by use of your complaints then we will.

All other addons in the store have been updated and checked for 2.1.3 compatibility, if you have issues accessing them then you can submit a helpdesk ticket. I will not investigate rants, complaints and problems originating from this forum, you can rag all day long and it will not help your cause whatsoever. We are very rarely on the CS-Cart Forums and don't have time to waste trolling through mindless posts of what people think we should be doing - Sno

first of all i am not against your addons but to your opinions and the way you take things.
your signature says you are a world class developer, if you are then you should calm yourself and listen your customers. eventhough if your customers cry.

you are not giving anything for free and you sound like if you were giving it for free. people pay for the addon and you obviously have your expenses and have to make money to live.

people here trust you just like me and believe in you. that you will come up with a solution, but i thnk if you continue on getting this aggresive you would loose clients.

if you are doing this as a hobby and you really dont care about people here then you shoud stop what you are doing and get another life.

you did not do anything wrong to us except making us wait 2-3 weeks and who knows how long more, but i dont appreciate the way you talk so aggredively with your customers. if people pay you then that means they are your clients and you should respect them.

my 2 cents of worth opinion can save you and earn you much more money, happy clients bring more, never forget!

The Review Attributes Addon is in Beta, their are some problems with it that need fixed. The development team is on holiday break for "Women's Day" during March 6, 7, and 8th so the issues that need fixed will not even be looked until March 9th, expect at least 1-2 days to verify the addon is stable and then it will be released. If your worried your business is going to go out of business without my addons then I'm curious what you guys did without them in the first place?

In addition I look forward to this week on the forums as everyone whines about CS as it looks like CS is either working through this holiday (which I seriously doubt) or forgot to mention to everyone (again) that they'll be away from the office for 3 days while everyone else who jumped on the 2.14 upgrade whines about all the problems their having, remember folks always wait at least a few weeks before you do an upgrade and check to make sure their are no Russian holidays out their...lol

Considering how many holidays Russia has it may not be a bad idea for everyone to pick up move over there - Sno

Would you rather have a buggy version? I understand that you want him to hold to his self imposed deadlines but as a Software Project Manager, I can tell you that software development very rarely goes as scheduled. When you don't have a huge pool of developers to help crash a project when issues arise and your timelines are in jeopardy, you are going to be late... it's simple math. Are you one of those people who get mad when a plane runs late because of a mechanical failure? I wish they would throw those people on the plane using remote control pilots and roll the dice to see if they land ok.

He gets the point that you are disappointed that he missed his self imposed deadline and I am sure he is sorry he was being optimistic in giving that deadline. So let's hope they get the bugs worked out and deliver a solid piece of software to those who paid for this addon.
