I welcome different mods that may appear to be the same, but are usually different. It always seems a little strange in the CS world how those who create mods get defensive when someone creates a mod that is similar.

My goodness, I honestly cannot wait to see what the help desk from alt-team does. The one from snorocket does okay, but there are still things we just do not like about it. Maybe the one from the alt-team will be more to our liking? We may end up thinking the one from snorocket is better. Either way, when there is competition it is good for EVERYONE! Variety.

I should also mention that competition makes those offering the mods stay on their toes with service and pricing. I still believe some of the mods being offered are just too high and off base. Likewise, the service side goes a back and forth from good to bad to good again. When people know there are options out there it is good for everyone.

Just think, if there wasn't competition we would still be stuck with "beepers" and stopping to use pay phones all the time. Likewise the cell phones, although they still have their issues, would still be attached to the floor of my car with an antenna on the outside of the car. Competition and demand drives innovation and YES, I'm sure some people created the same basic thing with ever so slight changes. But it was good for all AND because of how many people use cell phones the prices have been driven down.

So please, alt-team, snorocket, tbirnseth, webgraphiq or whomever (I know I left some out, sorry), keep creating mods and YES, you may even create something that is "similar" to someone else. The competition is good for everyone, including YOU. We need more people creating mods that help those who come along that cannot use the "cookie cutter" CS version and need some changes or a little more umph. Please understand that I am not saying CS is a bad shopping cart, but there is always something that some people like different or that they may want to do. The only thing that some people may want is a mod that does not cost as much as yours...that is still competition and it is still what drives innovation.
