Hi,

Great add on’s, I have been with USPS since UPS went crazy with their rates for my customers who are all over the US (UPS surcharges went crazy with gas prices), about 3 years now, I tried Endica and was not very happy as it slowed me down and did not have all the capability I have when I go direct to USPS website to process my labels via Click N Ship. Also I do a lot of international shipping and could not get Endica to function well for customs forms, etc.

What about a add-on that connects to USPS, do they not have an API? I am not sure, just a question, and certainly no reflection on your great products.

Thanks

Hello Ywalker,

Do you realize that you are paying full list price for all US Postal shipping services when buying postage directly from USPS.com ?

You are also paying about twice the price for package insurance for every postal shipment you process!

Actually, I am not, I get commercial pricing discounts. The only thing that does cost full price is insurance and I don’t insure every shipment so that was not an issue. Also customers pay for shipping, I do use USPS to save them money vs UPS but I also look for ease of use and functionality. Endicia also did not handle flat-rate boxes at the time I was using them.

I told Endicia the same things when I dropped their service. Perhaps they have updated it since then, I am not sure, but they will have to in order for me to try them again.

Hi,

I use Endicia (Dazzel) on a local laptop. Works great. I use a third party to download orders (not cs-cart, but can be similar). A file is created for endica. The endicia program has all usps shipping methods including all flat rate shipping boxes and international shipping.

Has many features including lower cost insurance, stealth postage ( shipping charge does not show on label.) When tracking or delivery confirmation is used, you can get this information from the web or directly from local desktop/laptop. Can also get statistics on shipping delivery times.

I have the sofware integrated with a scale and a zebra printer. Been using for over 4 years and is a real time saver over using on line postage at the USPS site.

I have to weigh the box. Can not use the shipping weight or chages on a cart since I use average shipping costs and not actual. Need to get actual from weighing the box.

Bob

Yep, everything Bob said!

We process & ship several Priority Mail flat rate boxs thru Endicia Dazzle every day, domestic as well as international. I actually find their customs document creation way simpler than fedex for example.

And, until you have used a thermal printer with peel & stick roll labels, you don’t know what your missing!

Yes, USPS has the API but they don’t provide prepaid shipping labels.

So you have to bring packages to a post office and pay there.

We’ve developed a module for cscart 1.3.5 and gave it some customers for testing, but no one was happy.

After that we decided to develop a software integrating USPS Shipping Solutions from Endicia.

You mention 2.0, but not 1.3.5 sp4. Does this mean that this mode will not work on the older version?

i tryed endicia one time but there system froze up on sign up etc.

is there a special way to sign up with them ?

Calvin,

It’s been several years since I signed up. Had no problems.

Maybe it was a one time communication problem. Have you tried recently?

Bob

So is anyone using this USPS mod yet for 2.? Is there anyone using 1.3.5 sp4 that is interested in getting this mod? Right now shippingkit has only developed this mod for the current version (I’m not for sure what this really means) and did not plan on doing it for the previous version that many are still using. Maybe if there were enough who wanted this mod for 1.3.5 sp4 they would develop it for that too. After all, they probably already have to fix the mod for version 2 about every other week when there seems to be a new realease that messes up the previous. Version 1.3.5 sp4 is sound and doesn’t get updated or broken because of tons of changes that kill mods.

yes im now signed up and cancelling stamps .com acct endicia is 2.00 cheaper a month

but how do i integrate it with my admin side of the store so i dont have to open up the program on the computer all the time

?

i only have a inkjet printer right now but i notice they have them thermal printers which one would suit me better ?

I’m interested in this, but I’m wondering if it pre-populates the tracking number field and sends the tracking number to the customer. If you could answer, I would appreciate it.

Yes, it populates the tracking number after shipping label generation (on success).

As you know when admin changes the order status to “Complete” CS-Cart sends order notification email to the customer including tracking number, it’s a default feature of CS-Cart.

Also there is an option in the module settings either to change the order status to “Complete” automatically if a shipping label is generated successfully or to do nothing.

ptp,

From the feedback I hear, everyone feels that you are creating great stuff. I wish you would look at doing Stamps.com.
