We keep in our minds all this questions and are planing to create the Re:Desk help desk solution as close to these questions as possible. Of course, all this will require a time to produce, but for now the release will include a core functionality of customer service tool. In the nearest feature we are planing to create API for Re:Desk and create a CS-Cart module to integrate customer accounts as I described above.

Personally I prefer not to have things like blogs and support intrigated. I like my sales process tobe as swift as possible. I use OS-Ticket. It's free and works a treat.
