Any updates on this?
Check out this announcement:

I just wanted to update this thread. Today we have a test demo up of the payment system. I haven't looked myself but it should be at the location above. This screencast will show payments to the store owner (commissions) and vendors. http://andyye.simtechdev.com/mv/jmv-demo.avi I have about five interested parties and we have all worked out a price of $700 so I'm just going to post that here so everyone is on level playing ground and eventually for those that purchase this we can all openly communicate and share future costs. If you would like to know more please use my contact info because I don't receive notifications as I should.

Added to spec is the ability to define a subscription that controls how many products can be listed, for how long, and for how much per subscription period.

Thanks,

John

Regarding the decisions below I am choosing to go the simpler route by doing the 2 months, 20 products concept. As for the second question below I agreed to roll back changes on canceled or failed.

John

We have almost completed the latest feature, the subscription plans.

Just a quick question: suppose, there is a vendor who is on the “10 products” subscription plan, and he still got 1 month active subscription.

Now he is ordering the 2-month “20 products” subscription. How should we change his subscription information?

Here are some proposed ways:

  1. Add 2 months and switch to “20 products” immediately

  2. Give the vendor a choice like its implemented on the demo page (see the “How to combine with the current subscription” product option):

    http://andyye.simtec…roduct_id=29778

Depending on the choice, the system will either reduce the product limit to 17 following the below formula:

    (2 months20products+1month10products)/3 months

or reduce the total timeframe to 2.5 month.

And another question: the vendor account is automatically updated (months are added and subscription plan is changed) each time the order gets its “Processed” status. Should we roll the changes back once the status changes to “Cancelled” or “Failed”?

Just want to let everyone know that we are almost finished with the addon. There are just some minor things left for them to do. Here are the important aspects of our discussion since my last message.

Just got a question regarding the following spec's item:

1.2.1 The commission percentage will apply on the subtotal of the order (not including promotions, taxes and other charges or price modifiers). Is the main store supposed to sell its own products?

If yes, should we apply the per order commission to the main store's products as well?

Regarding this I'm having them not charge commission on the store's products - only on the vendors sales. I don't have a need for it. I just want to make you all aware that they can do this both ways in case you need it.

We have created a set of screencasts to illustrate the basics of the add-on:

Installing and configuring the add-on.

http://andyye.simtechdev.com/mv/jmv-install.avi

Setting up vendor's payment methods.

Setting up vendor's taxes.

Setting up the “Monthly subscription product”.

How to subscribe.

dos it work in the new version 3

This is excellent, I've been holding back on MV because of this. I'm in Australia, and our payment processors don't want to have anything to do with multi-vendor either. With this solution I can finally buy a license.

The links above don't work though?

How much will you be charging for this add-on?

No wait, I spoke too soon…it appears this is only available for PayPal Pro which severly limits usefulness when PayPal Pro requires something like 2 years of trading history to qualify. Why wasn't it written for other gateways like eWay?

Don't work link

Hi,

I want to use CS-Cart Multi-Vendor solution and I need following points to be done in my Solution. Can any one please tell me the cost:

1 If there are products of different vendors in the shopping cart, the order will be split into per-vendor orders.

2 The commission percentage will apply on the subtotal of the order (not including promotions, taxes and other charges or price modifiers).

3 Products of vendors, which don't have their own payment method, will have the “Add to cart” button hidden.

4 Administrator will be able to create the “Monthly subscription product”: vendors will be required to purchase this product to pay their monthly membership commission.

5 Vendors accounts with expired membership will be blocked automatically.

6 Administrator will be able to set the “Free membership” flag on particular vendor accounts.

Please reply ASAP

Regards

Raman

OMG this what you disscuss here was my first thought ([Presale-Question] MultiVendor Questions before i buy it - Multi-Vendor Edition - CS-Cart Community Forums) when i like to buy a Multivendor lisence. Its not allowed to take money from other vendors. for this i need a financial lisence, what i not have. So without the functionallity that every vendor can set payment method, tax, tos (at checkout), so more vendor target, its not possible to run a multi vendor shop.

Hi John where can we obtain this Mod, People have posted, but no reply.

There are may legal issues around taking money on behalf of a retailer.

We operate payment gateway solutions that require overnight settlement to retailers accounts just as if the purchase was made at the retailers shop over a payment terminal. If for example you had 1000,000 users and all these users purchased a daily deal that was offered for $20 that would be a 20 million dollar liability. Banks and gateway providers will not allow any multi merchant operator to take 20 million dollars into there own account based on the trust that the operator will pay out. You would have to have mega red tape and policies to get around.Therefor it is vital that within the multi vendor solution retailers can get paid directly for the products they are listing and you the tool provider invoice the retailer for the fees that relate to the products sold.

The bigger multi merchant vendors get around this issue by using something much like your ultimate version that has a common marketplace that promotes all products and you click the product to purchase it. If we obtained one retailer / customer like wallmart they would list thousands of products, and they would expect to be paid directly.

So when is this mod likely to be posted so as users lcan buy it and impliment it.?

I am shocked after buying that merchants cannot do this already…

What the script needs badly is this MOD and also facebook, Google Plus and twittter Login abilities, and comment abilities.

Can anyone please provide answers …

Cheers … and with a little bit of drive this solution could become the untimate solution… '

Hi everyone. A few including myself missed the link.

Hello,

I recently submitted a request for a quote to have an Etsy-like module developed, on top of CS Cart Multi-Vendor edition V3.

It will essentially do what Etsy does : have a store operate under a single domain, with vendor profile showing on product pages while at the checkout phase, include vendors' payment gateways and have the customer pay for each vendor's items in separate transactions.

If you are interested in such an add-on, CS Cart confirmed that we could bundle our requirements and send a group request to have this module developped for us.

Of course, cost of development will then be shared across more projects, thus lowering the price for all participants.

Please reply if you are interested.

I'm sorry to inform everyone that due to CS-Cart's policies I'm unable to sell this modification.

Can you explain what policy violation occurred?
