Following up on this.
We had previously installed the CS-Commerce Search SpeedUp Add on. While it helped some, it did not perform great with our large dataset (1.2M products and climbing). However I had some interaction with them and we made some adjustments to their algorithm used for performing multi-word searches and really had some Excellent results.
We had previous pages taking up to 50 seconds to load, after the changes the same pages were loading in about 3 seconds. So, at this point, the Speedup Addon is actually doing really well. I'm hoping they will continue to make some additional adjustments to the algorithm -- they have the foundation of a GREAT addon that is extremely easy to use.
They also made some other enhancements to the overall functionality that really supports the larger data sets. I think this product has a great opportunity to get even better, so well done to that team.
