There isn't any relation - this is just something I was doing to have my Categories sort alphabetically when I noticed that a patch had been applied by Tony - the patch that helped fix the email error. Since then, I have noticed that I still miss some emails, while others make it through to my Inbox. I have no idea why this is happening.

Susie,
Thank you for the reply.

I am just curious. Did you have a problem with the user registration as well? I do not get email when a new user registered.

I have never ONCE received an email telling me someone registered. Or that they joined our mailing list. Never ever.

Depending on your level of frustration, you can spend $20 and get my addon that will log all outgoing emails from the cart. If there was no log entry then there was no email sent (for other reasons). You can purchase our email logging addon (which is what I used to help debug Susie's situation) at:

Documentation is in the Attachments tab. Note that for order notifications, there are hard coded exceptions that will prevent an email from being sent for certain status transitions. I.e. if a payment processor is used and the order changes from B->O then no matter what you set the "notification" in Order statuses to an email will NOT be sent for that transition. There may be others too but that's the one that comes to mind. So the best solution is to set notifcation for both O and P Order statuses.

Note that I no longer provide updates to carts that are not part of our subscription service. Susie has been grandfathered in.

Also note that Susie uses Go Daddy for her hosting. Hence it is entirely possible that the email is being sent from the cart but swallowed up by Go Daddy's internal systems for reasons that are not revealed.
