I see there is a forum here which lists CS Cart2 addons, some of which may or may not be upgraded to version 3. That forum seems to lack any organization.

I also see a company listing which is called 'marketplace', but that doesn't list or explain addons. That a small link directory.

Is there a marketplace somewhere which provides an overview of addons, payment methods, shipping methods, etc.

Is there something similar to:

Ultimate Edition Search Box

Is there a default area I need to add this to? When I started the first website, most of the boxes were already there including the search box.

Hello there,

As I'm still a student, I have 1 period of 10 weeks where I have to work for a company. Now I got this project where I have to make an addon that makes it possible to load database information into a file, that will be send by e-mail. As I'm totally new to making addons and PHP, this project will cover the full 10 weeks.

I have a basic knowledge of SQL but I have problems with PHP. It's easy for me to write a SQL statement where I SELECT something for example, but when I have to do it in the addon, it just doesn't work. I have tried multiple things, but I just don't get it working. I ask you to give me just a few basic examples to get data from a database, which I will study and, when I understand, use in my future addon to get it working.

Apologies if this has been asked before, I did have a look around and I didn't find anything, I am new to this forum so I may well have missed something.

We are looking for a way to sell individual license keys on CS-Cart (multi-vendor)

For example; if I want to add a download product and the downloadable file that the customer buys contains an unique license key how can I stop someone else buying the same key code?

Is it possible to add numerous Key Code files to the same product which are removed after they are downloaded?

Could I add each unique key code to a different product that goes “out of stock” once someone has purchased the product?

Is it possible to sell only one of a downloadable product?

Is there a guide for how to use/setup a 'Product Configurator' product? It just seems so confusing. I asked Alt-Team becuase they have a mod that is better called Product packages but it is for CS-Cart 3 version. I have version 2.2.x of CS-Cart.

The CS-Cart reference guide only provides this.

I need to get the path where are the thumbnails for using them in my ERP.
I have the name of the file in the mysql base (cscart_images), but what about the url ?

For example with the demo store, a picture is here :

In my shop, the link is the same, but some images are in other directory that the "0" :

Product Pages Error after Store Import

I've managed to 'successfully' upgrade a store from 2.2.5 to 3.0.4 via the Store Import function, however the new store doesn't display product pages properly (or quickly).

An error occurs on each product page stating:

Warning: Illegal offset type in /home/cmcm1777/public_html/v3/core/classes/bm/block.php on line 679
Warning: array_merge() [function.array-merge]: Argument #2 is not an array in /home/cmcm1777/public_html/v3/core/classes/bm/block.php on line 686

The pages also appear to be loading all the products from the category not just the one selected. I have tried adding a new product from scratch but get the same error.

Any help would be appreciated.

How this happened I have NO idea, but for some reason when I view my storefront from my office computer the pricing is no longer in dollars, but British Pounds!

The back end of the store shows dollars, as does my storefront from my home computer and iPhone, so I must have something screwy on my office PC without realizing it. But what???

Hi i have created a content page via the contents page and activated the block created in the pages block to show what i want on a specific page.

however for some reason the content ive written overlaps the footer of each page as seen in the attachments.

im at a loss as to how to rectify this as the block is located in the central grid.

any help would be appreciated.

I've been trying to set up a 3 for £20 offer in CS-Cart that applies only to certain products or a certain category of products, but unfortunately I've not been able to do this. The best I can do is create a promotion whereby a customer can add any three products to the shopping cart, and the relevant items get discounted to £6.66 (a third of the 3 for £20 price). If someone adds three of the items, it comes our at £19.98 (which is close enough) but if they take one of these promotional products out of the cart and add something else, the promotion still stays active on the remaining 2 promotional products.

Can anyone advise the best way to proceed with this? Is it even possible in CS-Cart?

Well I got a question about adding Pinterest to a site the other day and I can't seem to be able to figure out how to do it.

What I'm trying to do is put the Pinterest icon on each of my product pages and then pass the information on to Pinterest so people can add my products to their wall.

I'm able to get the icon on the pages just fine, but I can't seem to be able to pass the information along.

I need:

The product URL
The image URL
The product name

Has anyone done this? Can you please help?

On a side note, I've never heard of Pinterest until the other day, but when I asked my wife about it, she totally knew what it was. She actually has her own wall and everything. I guess my sister, my mom, and some of my wife's friends also use Pinterest. It kind of sounds like a chick thing to do so I'm not sure how much it will help me, but maybe for you guys/gals that sell chick stuff, this might help.

Hello,

I buy and sell certain items and was trying to come up with ways to use CS-Cart to do this. They recommended i use the quantity discount to put the items as a negative cost (think trading movies, one movie may be worth 3.00 so the customer might want to buy a 4.00 movie and trade in a 3.00 movie) So i was going to go with that. Now the more i think about it the more i worry it will have issues with duplicates during search (sell and buy items are identicle just different prices).

What I came up with was running two carts, is there anyway to do this or to show the items as seperate as in display the price but when they are in the cart they do not change the total or anything?

Ive set up the website but for reason now i cannot add any items to my cart? there is enough stock and the only thing ive done recently related to the shopping cart is change the cart icon and the text. nothing that will change the function fo the cart button.

No jQuery scripts work on my site

Both the carousel rotating banners nor the tabs on product pages work. Basically no jquery scripts work on my site.

I have written the helpdesk over a week ago and they keep saying, "we are busy, we will write you back". I have already spent my money on credits and although I'm sure they are busy, I just need to find a solution sooner than later because it's preventing me from launching the site.

Is this a simple fix? Can somebody help me.

I am running: CS-Cart: version 3.0.6 PROFESSIONAL

Where are these jquery files housed? I have checked the "js" folder off the root and compared it to the CS-Cart Software that I downloaded and all of the files seem to be there and the js file sizes are correct too. I have also checked the permissions and everything appears good.

I have also uploaded the software files via FileZilla several times to make sure nothing (no files, no folders) was missed during an upload and it all appears to be there.

Am I looking in the wrong place?

Hey guys, I'd appreciate some opinions!

I'm kicking around the idea of using PayPal for all my payments. I see that by using their premium level: "PayPal Payments Pro", my customers wouldn't need to ever leave the site when they choose to pay via PayPal, which i like.

I was wondering if anyone here uses this method and what they think of it.

Also, PayPal's site says that some custom development is needed to integrate it, but is this necessary with CSC? I'm not sure if they mean the graphical interface (which CSC already has) or it there's a lot of behind the scenes coding required to get it to fly. In either case, what costs would be involved, if any?

Odd bug issue with Recent orders after migration to new host!

Hi all
I have migrated my clients website with a CS-Cart shop V 2.5, to a new host. All seems ok but some of the recent orders that were processed and paid are now impossible to view in admin, as coming up with an error. Thing is it happens to half of them, recent and older, but not the rest (also recent and older).

Here is the error (minus my server string bit)

and

Any ideas?

My workflow for the migration was:

1. Extract the database.
2. Download the entire site files and CS-Cart to my local drive.
3. Set up the web space and domain to point to it.
4. Upload all the site files inc CS-Cart that was downloaded from the old site.
5. import the database tables and contents.
6. Re-config the config.local file.

Prior to any of this, I deleted the cash in admin using ?cc on the first admin page.
Also checked all the folders for correct permissions.

I am stuck! Any help would be great guys.

I author the third-party add-on http://www.CartSpan.com that integrates CS-Cart with QuickBooks (US) and Sage 50 (US). I'm currently updating my scripts and am excited to see these two columns on the database.

US-based taxation is quickly moving in the direction of street-level cross-referencing with county-based tax authorities and these fields support that perfectly. This sets-up perfectly with cross-referencing by State/County in the accounting system for properly directing the import to the correct authority.

Could someone please indicate if these columns on the database are in-use yet, and if so, what are the mechanisms by which they are populated.

Changing the Padding on the Search box

I did some playing around with firebug and noticed that the search box gobbles up quite a bit of padding both above and below the physical box that's actually visible on my monitor. I'd like to reduce this padding so the heading itself takes up a bit less height.

Moving Product Tab Location

On the product page in the cscart demo the Product Tabs (e.g., Description/Send to a Friend)
appears below the product image and spans the full width of the product page.

Is it possible to move the location of the Product Tabs so they appear to the right of the product image and below the title. And if so how is this achieved.

Possible fix for CPU usage issues

My server has been experiencing intermittent CPU-related performance issues for a while now, and I (may have) finally found the problem and solution. (My site runs version 2.2.4 on a VPS with a 3.4 GHz CPU and 2.3 GB of RAM.)

THE PROBLEM: After identifying periods of excessive load (100% CPU usage) and reviewing access logs for those times, a pattern emerged. During each of those times, robots (crawlers) were indexing URLs containing "features_hash" (due to use of CS-Cart's "Filters" feature).

As many of you know, having several Filters, each with with several options, produces a very large number of possible URL combinations. Even with caching turned on, these "features_hash" pages seem to be more processor-intensive than standard category and product URLs. (Maybe someone could test this theory and do some benchmarking?) Even if they're not more processor-intensive, the potential volume of pages is huge, and the value of having them indexed is (for me at least), very small.

THE SOLUTION: Change the robots.txt file to include the following:

User-agent: *
Disallow: /*?

User-agent: *
Disallow: /*features_hash

The first option disallows indexing of all URLs which contain a question mark. Because my site has SEO-friendly links, I've chosen that option, as I'm happy to avoid indexing all non-SEO-friendly URLs. The second option is more specific, and only disallows indexing of "features_hash" pages.

For my site, the change was immediate. I understand that not all robots follow the robots.txt protocol, but most of my robot traffic now avoids the CPU-intensive indexing of unwanted pages.

I would appreciate any confirmation (or refutation) of this theory and fix.

Important note on the robots.txt file: be sure to modify the robots.txt file which resides in your site's root web directory (www.yoursite.com/robots.txt). I've seen some posters state (incorrectly) that you can install CS-Cart in a subdirectory (www.yoursite.com/yourfolder) and still expect the standard robots.txt installed by CS-Cart to be found and used. If you doubt this, search your server logs for /yourfolder/robots.txt

Product Options - Separate Block

I am trying to create a separate block containing the product options, i have created the block and included the product options code in it.

Products Showing up in Main Categories

Hi,

I have recently noticed that my site was running slow when I click on the main categories. I have come to the conclusion that it is taking forever to load the page because it is loading all the products inside of the below categories. I would like for the products to only show in the final category. For instance say my category systems was Products>Clothing>Men's>Casual Wear, Business Attire, Athletic Wear...etc. Where the products would only be displayed once you click on a final subcategory. I have attached a screenshot. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

On my site I wish to display 4 products to a row but when I do this the text starts to overlap. Is there a setting(s) I can modify too prevent the overlap occurring (ie., word wrap, or cell space).

Credit Card Info not viewable in admin Order Page

Hi,

We have the CC terminal where we can swipe or enter CC info manually. but it is not connected to the automatic online processing with CS-cart.

I wonder how are we suppose to process CC payments if the credit card info on the order page is scrambled and replaced with XXXX 's

I am talking about offline CC processing, or adding CC info to the order for later processing, when customer calls in with that information.

I know that with versions 2.14 the CC info was saved and displayed properly with the order and if needed it could be removed manually after the order is processed and completly closed.

Is there a setting the we are missing now in v. 3.0.5 ?

I'm trying to get the vendor name display on each of the products in grid.

I was in grid_list.tpl (line 31)

I could get and display the company_id.

I have tried using the same code as the product id getting the description

Removing Minimum order amount for select customers

The way I want to set it up is that the first order must be a minimum of $XXX. After the initial order, I can reduce or remove the minimum order amount required on a per customer basis.

disabling shipping methods when adding shipment

When viewing an order in admin, I go to + shipment to add a new shipment to the order. The "shipment method" drop-down shows all couriers including fedex, ups, usps, etc. I only use fedex. Is there a way make fedex the default option, maybe by disabling others that I don't use?

This way, I don't have look for it every time that I add a new shipment to an existing order?

I'm trying to figure out an odd bug with CS-Cart's Google Analytics reporting. When customers order a product, it's displayed correctly and (positive) revenue appears in analytics. However when our staff mark the order as completed, Google Analytics then reports a second transaction - identical to the first, except with negative revenue.

It appears that there's something weird going on with the ecommerce tracking, but I don't understand why the software would ever report negative revenues when the products are completed. Has anyone else had any experience with this? There's a possibility that our workflow for marking orders as complete is entirely wrong, but what action in particular would cause this behaviour?

Top menu not showing in categorie page

Hello all,

probably the most simple question but...

I'm playing around with the trial version of cs-cart 3.0.6.

I've added some categories and they appear as they should nicely in the top menu. Problem is when I click on one of the categories, I 'll get to the categorie page with the assigned products but the top menu disappears.
It happens on all categories pages.
It does not happen on all other pages like "contact us" or one of the links in the bottom menu wich are installed on default.

who can point me in the wright direction to solve this?

Hi,

I wonder if products, pages or categories under "HIDDEN" status are visible to search engines.
If not, do you have any suggestion on how to make them visible to search engines?
I am looking for ways to create more content and pages on my website but do not want to confuse my customers with too many visible pages/categories.
